	Applications from charities seeking OFFICIAL RACE CHARITY status or reserved 'GOLDEN BOND' places for the 2011 Bath Half are NOW CLOSED Applications from charities seeking reserved 'PRIVATE CHARITY' places for the 2011 Bath Half will CLOSE ON 23rd AUGUST Application details for next year's race have been emailed to the registered contact for all this year's race charities An estimated £7.2 million pounds has been raised by the official race charities in the 11 years since the introduction of our Golden Bond scheme in 2000. In 2009 a record figure of £1.3 million pounds was raised for charity, and indications for the 2010 event are that this figure has been surpassed once again As one of the largest fundraisers in the South West - if not the largest - the Bath Half represents a valuable revenue stream for a number of charities and voluntary groups. Participation also helps raise public profile, particularly for local smaller charities and voluntary groups supporting less popular causes General public entries to the Bath Half have been heavily oversubscribed for the last 11 years. One of our priorities is to ensure maximum benefit from the places reserved for the Official Race Charities, selection of which is determined by a charity advisory panel, with preference being given to charities and voluntary groups which meet our Charity Selection Criteria, with a particular emphasis on charitable monies raised being reinvested within the Bath & North East Somerset council area
