Run with Team Macmillan in the Bath Half Marathon and be part of something bigger. You’ll have the run of a lifetime with the highest level of support, including a fundraising and training pack and the best support on race day with our renowned cheer-points, hospitality tent and a well deserved massage. But more importantly with every step you will help Macmillan change the lives of people affected by cancer for the better now and far into the future.
On average four people are diagnosed with cancer every day at the Bath RUH, and every one of those people will be supported by Macmillan in some way. This could be as simple as receiving a folder full of information and advice to take home once the news of the diagnosis has sunk in, getting specialised care from one of the 19 Macmillan medical professionals at the RUH or financial advice from the Welfare and Benefits Advisors at the Bath CAB.
Macmillan has raised over £232,617 in the Bath Half Marathon since 2009. The money raised has helped to support the Macmillan Cancer Nurse Specialists based at the Bath RUH, along with the hospital’s Macmillan Cancer Information Centre and Information and Support Service Manager. This is as well as all the other Macmillan services which benefit people in Bath, Somerset and the rest of the UK, including Macmillan’s free phone support service, benefits advisors, cancer information leaflets and financial grants to help with the cost of living with cancer. By running for Team Macmillan in the Bath Half YOU will ensure that Macmillan will continue to provide these services to the people that need them.
